Simon Malnoë studied yacht design in Southampton (UK) and gained a B(Eng) degree in 1997. After working in the south of England with a British marine surveyor he moved to the south of France and joined forces with Eric Ogden in 2000.During the past ten years he has surveyed yachts of all types and sizes; mainly carrying out pre-purchase surveys but also insurance claim work, pre-acceptance surveys for new yachts, valuations, ultrasonic thickness measurements and much more. Simon Malnoë is a graduate member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA), an Associate Member of the Yacht Designers and Surveyors Association (YDSA) and an Accredited Marine Surveyor, Yacht and Small Craft, member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS). He is an Authorised Surveyor to carry out inspections under the UK MCA Codes of Practice for Small Commercial Vessels under 24 m and an approved Tonnage Measurer for all crafts up to 24 meters.
